Steven Cramer (Poetry, MFA faculty) has a new chapbook As If: Variations on Enrique Anderson-Imbert, available from Lily Poetry Review Press. Two poems from that collection, “Two Ghosts” and “The Eye That Desires to Look Upward” are currently appearing in the July 2025 issue of Plume.

Amber Wong (Nonfiction, January 2014) has an essay “The Long Run” in Pangyrus.

Eileen Cleary (Poetry, June 2016) has been longlisted for the 2025 Mass Book Awards in poetry, for her collection Wild Pack of the Living.

Robbie Gamble (Poetry, January 2017/ Nonfiction, June 2020) has two poems out: “Liminal” in the current issue of Right Hand Pointing, and “Single-A Ball” in The Under Review. A translation of his essay “Guernica” appears in the Spanish journal Las Nueve Musas.

Emily Inouye Huey (WFYP, June 2011) is the winner of the 2025 Utah Book Awards Notable Read in the illustrated books category, for her picture book Wat Kept Playing.

S.E. Clark (Fiction, January 2015) has a short story “Tellings” in The Orange & Bee.

Julie Wittes Schlack (Nonfiction, June 2013) has an essay “Not All Jobs Require Literacy Skills. But Nearly All Job Applications Do” out in Cognoscenti.

Kristin Offiler (Fiction, January 2011) is featured on The Write It Scared Podcast, in an episode titled “How to Trust the Process and Stick with Your Story.” She’s also featured on The Debutante Ball Substack for debut authors.

KB Ballantine (Poetry, June 2007) has as poem “Occasion to Glory” in Volume 2 of The Zest of the Lemon.

Celeste Mohammed (Fiction, June 2016) discusses her forthcoming novel Ever Since We Small in an article “Ink and Identity,” in the Guyana Chronicle.

Jody Hobbs Hesler (Fiction, June 2017) has published two new short stories: “Pencil-Drawn Woman” in The Overturning Anthology and “Despite the Loveliest Distractions” in Swing.

Andrea Wang (WFYP, June 2011) will be receiving the 2025 Ohio Book Award in the Middle Grade category, for her novel Summer at Squee.

Tracey Baptiste (WFYP, MFA faculty) is a finalist for the 2025 Caricon Prize in the YA Literature category, for her novel Moko Magic: Carnival Chaos. She also held a launch for her new picture book, Super Goat Girl.

Michelle Knudsen (WFYP, MFA faculty) has an audiobook version of her Evil Librarian trilogy, now available for preorder.

Jennifer LeBlanc’s (Poetry, June 2012) poem, “Love After Roe,” has been published in the new issue of Cherry Tree.

“However Long the Drive May Be” by Angelo D’Amato (Fiction, June 2020) has been published in the latest issue of Blood Tree Literature.
Opportunities & Resources
- Poetry alums July Westhale and Michael Mercurio are teaming up to deliver a four-week speculative poetry workshop, “Beyond Belief,” with the Pioneer Valley Writers’ Workshop. The cost is $275 and it is open to all levels, including beginners!
- Fiction MFA faculty Hester Kaplan and Michael Lowenthal will be hosting a six-week prose workshop starting on September 30th, “The Ties That B(l)ind.” Through engaging readings and generative writing prompts, this craft-based workshop will explore the intricate web of relationships that shape our lives. - The 2025 Perugia Press Prize is open for submissions until November 15th. They are looking for poetry manuscripts by U.S.-based woman-identifying poets with no more than one previously published full-length book. You are still eligible if you have published a poetry chapbook/s or books in other genres.
