Join recent Lesley graduate Raymond Tyler Woodsmall (Fiction, June 2020) and faculty member Pamela Petro (Nonfiction; Graphic Novel & Comics, MFA Writing Faculty) as they discuss Raymond’s upcoming comic, “Amputation Capital.”
“Amputation Capital is a dystopian-present where celebrities and influencers sell body parts on a publicly-traded skin market. The story focuses on three characters that are displaced and objectified by the skin business. Alfie is a lowly skin trader who will do anything to become COO. Morgan is a recently divorced actor who sold her ring finger for 2 million dollars. Walter is a former porn actor/sex worker turned full-time activist. The three characters mirror different aspects of the skin business, buying, selling, and sometimes… eating.”
