In this course, led by Angelo D’Amato (Fiction, June 2020), will look at William Faulkner’s “The Sound and the Fury,” Virginia Woolf’s “The Waves,” and excerpts from James Joyce’s “Ulysses” and “Finnegans Wake,” to understand how this technique challenges how we make meaning of the world, and how we can harness it to create a music that is entirely our own. At the end of the class, students will have produced either a short story, an excerpt from a larger story, or a portfolio of smaller exercises.
This class will meet in-person at CCAE on Tuesdays for 8 weeks. Limited availability.
