SUMMARY:Turkeys in Disguise Book Launch with Cynthia Platt
DESCRIPTION:Visit Whitelam Books for this in-person book launch of Cynthia Platt’s (WFYP\, June 2014) new picture book\, Turkeys in Disguise. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIt’s Thanksgiving Day and Farmer Byrd’s Turkey & Vegetable Farm is expecting business\, but a surprisingly empty pen has the farmer declaring\, “No turkeys for sale!” \n\n\n\nFollow along as a group of kids get crafty and decide to save some turkeys by coming up with a cornucopia of creative and silly disguises for their feathered friends. \n\n\n\nInspired by the popular Thanksgiving school activity of creating paper disguises for the turkey\, this lower-priced hardcover picture book is perfect for the classroom and for story time at home.

SUMMARY:East End Books Ptown presents: L Scully "Self-Romancing" in conv. w/ Zac Smith and Madison Murray
DESCRIPTION:Visit East End Books in Provincetown to celebrate the launch of L Scully’s (Nonfiction\, January 2023) poetry collection\, Self-Romancing. L will be in conversation with Zac Smith and Madison Murray. You can also watch the event through the store’s Facebook page. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn a tonal mash-up of Jenny Holzer’s Truisms\, confessional poetry\, and fortune telling\, Self-Romancing draws you into the amorous and obsessive inner life of an unnamed romantic. Relatable and snarky\, heartfelt and horny\, L Scully fortifies irony with vulnerability\, bringing readers into a narrative as intimate as slumber parties and ordinary as Trader Joe’s. Bursting with the giddy charm of the everyday\, Self-Romancing plays with form\, turning a book into a crush\, a crank call\, a manifesto.
