SUMMARY:Coach Book Launch: Jason Reynolds in conversation with D. Watkins
DESCRIPTION:Join Charm City Books and Gilman School in celebrating the launch of Coach with bestselling author Jason Reynolds (WFYP\, MFA Writing Faculty)!  \n\n\n\nThe evening will be filled with stories and insightful conversations between Jason and bestselling author\, our homegrown D. Watkins. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to participate in the conversation between two earth-shaking artists speaking to our hearts\, minds and imaginations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this companion to Jason Reynolds’s award-winning and New York Times bestselling Track series\, meet Coach as a boy striving to come into his own as a track star while facing upheaval at home. \n\n\n\nBefore Coach was the man who gave caring yet firm-handed guidance to Ghost\, Lu\, Patina\, and Sunny on the Defenders track team\, he was little Otie Brody\, who was obsessed with Mr. 9.99 (a.k.a. Carl Lewis) and Marty McFly from Back to the Future. Like Mr. 9.99—and his own dad—Otie is a sprinter. Sprint free or die is practically his motto. Then his dad\, who is always away on business trips\, comes home with a pair of Jordans. JORDANS. Fine as fine can be. Otie puts them on and feels like he can leap to the moon…maybe even leap like Mr. 9.99 when he won the Olympic gold medal in the long jump. \n\n\n\nBut one morning he wakes up to find his brand-new secret weapon kicks are missing—right off his feet! And Otie just might have a fuzzy memory of his dad easing them off as Otie was sleeping\, but that can’t be right\, can it? \n\n\n\nUnless all the reasons for his dad’s “gone’s” are very different from what he’s been told… Because now\, not only are the Jordans missing\, but so is his father.

SUMMARY:Adam Theater Presents: Library Lion
DESCRIPTION:“‬Library Lion\,” based on one of Time Magazine’s 100 ‬best Children’s books of all time\, by Michelle Knudsen (WFYP\, MFA Writing Faculty). The musical play features a cast of five actors and three puppeteers who operate a puppet designed and built by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop with live music. Directed by award winning director\, Ran Bechor. \n\n\n\nAfter all spots of the inaugural show as a site-specific play at Boston Public Library have been taken – Adam Theater is proud to present for the first time in the USA the theater adaptation of Library Lion. In the library\, there are books. But also very clear rules: no shouting\, no running\, no eating or drinking. But what happens when one day a lion enters the library? He doesn’t roar or rampage\, and contrary to expectations\, he peacefully joins storytelling hour. Not everyone is okay with this\, after all\, he doesn’t abide by the rules. (A lion? In the library? – that’s completely out of order!) It will be revealed that rules are important to follow\, but not only that: That it is also very important\, here and there\, to dust off some of these rule books as well. \n\n\n\nPlaywright & Lyrics by Eli Bijaoui\, Award winning Director Ran Bechor\, Music by Yoni Rechter.
