More Than One Story: The Many Faces of Latinadad
September 19 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm EST
A Roundtable on the Latinx & Afro-Latinx Experience in the Literary World
Featuring: Clarence A. Haynes, J.L. Polanco, Saraciea J. Fennell (WFYP, January 2020), Adrian Cepeda, and Matteo J.
Latinidad has never been one story, one race, one experience, or one way of moving through the world.
More Than One Story: The Many Faces of Latinidad brings together Latinx and Afro-Latinx authors, publishers, booksellers, educators, and creators for an honest conversation about identity, race, representation, and what it means to navigate the literary world while carrying identities that are often simplified—or left out of the conversation altogether.
Whether you identify as Latinx or Afro-Latinx, work in books or education, are a reader interested in these conversations, or simply want to listen and learn, you’re welcome in the room.
Because there isn’t one Latinx experience.
There are many identities, histories, languages, cultures, complexities, and stories.
And they all deserve room on the page.
