Suzanne Cope, PhD is a narrative journalist and scholar, author of WOMEN OF WAR: The Italian Assassins, Spies and Couriers Who Fought the Nazis (Dutton, 2025) and POWER HUNGRY: Women of the Black Panther Party and Freedom Summer and Their Fight to Feed a Movement (2021). She has published with The New York Times, The Atlantic, Washington Post, CNN, BBC, among others. She is a professor at New York University and splits her time between Sullivan County and Brooklyn with her husband, the musician Steve Mayone, and her two children.
